Some Seasons Are Meant to Be Shared. đź’ś

I attended the launch of The Season of Fire by Dr. Gillian Curry Williams at The Balmoral Club.

Gillian and I recently reconnected, and I shared with her that I had returned home to The Bahamas after living in the U.S. I also told her about being a caregiver to my mother, who is in breast cancer recovery, and how her own breast cancer survival journey had encouraged me along the way.

She immediately said, “I have a book your mother would love.”

It was a book she had written some time ago about her cancer journey. She signed it, and I brought it home to my mom.

So tonight, I went simply to support her. What I didn’t expect was how much the evening would give back to me.

A thoughtful panel discussion included Dr. Williams and her own physician, Dr. Agatha Mackey , an obstetrician-gynecologist experienced in menopause care. Together, they brought something we need more of in women’s health: science and story in the same room.

I was equally moved by the community of women gathered, listening, learning, laughing and supporting one another.

And there was one especially beautiful moment. Tonight was also Dr. Williams’ wedding anniversary. Her husband, played Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” and embraced his wife, a tender reminder of the love that can walk beside us through every season.

I went to support a friend. I left reminded that our stories can become someone else’s strength.

Congratulations, Dr. Gillian Curry Williams, on The Season of Fire. And thank you, Dr. Agatha Mackey, for bringing your medical insight to this important conversation.

We do not simply survive our seasons. We carry what they teach us forward and, when we share those lessons, we help light the way for someone else. đź’ś

🇧🇸 Officially a Bahamas Specialist!

I’m pleased to share that I’ve successfully completed The Islands of The Bahamas Specialization Program and am now recognized as an official Bahamas Specialist.

For me, this certification is more than another credential. It represents a deeper commitment to understanding, promoting, and sharing the extraordinary experiences that make The Bahamas such a special destination.

Much of my work sits at the intersection of tourism, hospitality, wellness, and authentic Bahamian experiences. Continuing to deepen my destination knowledge allows me to better connect visitors with the people, places, flavors, and experiences that make our islands unforgettable.

There is so much more to The Bahamas than sun, sand, and sea. Our culture, cuisine, communities, and hospitality are an important part of the story — and I’m excited to continue helping tell it.

Thank you to The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation for providing this valuable specialization program.

Onward. 🇧🇸✨

As a naturopathic doctor, I often talk about food as medicine. But food is also memory. It’s culture. It’s connection.

One of the most meaningful parts of wellness is taking time to slow down, share a meal, and appreciate the stories behind what we eat.

I recently had the opportunity to experience Meza de Juan at Costa, where Chef Juan Meza beautifully blends Mexican culinary traditions with thoughtful storytelling. Every course reflected not only incredible craftsmanship but also the rich heritage and community that make food such a powerful part of our lives.

Wellness isn’t just about nutrients—it’s about the experiences that nourish us emotionally, socially, and culturally.

If you’re looking for a unique culinary experience, Meza de Juan is held on the last Wednesday of every month at Costa.

What food experience has stayed with you long after the last bite? I’d love to hear your story. 💚

Birthday reflections today.

I’m grateful to be doing work that lets me tell meaningful stories about food, culture, and hospitality in The Bahamas.

My recent interview with Dario Cecchini is now live as a preview of an upcoming editorial guide to Baha Mar.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support what I’m building here in The Bahamas.

We are proud to share an exclusive preview from our upcoming Bahamas Restaurant Guide editorial guide to Baha Mar.

Our conversation with Dario Cecchini explores the philosophy behind Carna, the responsibility of hospitality, and the way food can connect people across cultures.

From Tuscany to The Bahamas, this story reflects the kind of culinary storytelling we are committed to documenting.
