Those Authorities involved should be immediately suspended pending a full and impartial investigation. If abuse of power and violations of that woman’s right to justice are established, they should be held accountable and discharged from their positions.

COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION: The Royal Bahamas Police Force has announced an investigation into the handling of a woman’s complaint at a police station after a video expressing her dissatisfaction circulated on social media.
According to police, the woman subsequently visited another police station, where her concerns were addressed to her satisfaction.
The Force says the investigation will seek to establish the facts and determine whether any established policies or procedures were breached. Appropriate departmental action will be taken if violations are identified.
Police maintain that every individual has the right to report an incident and have their complaint properly assessed, reaffirming their commitment to professionalism, accountability and impartial service.

Coalition of Independents Leader Lincoln Bain was arrested by police this morning as he and other concerned citizens sought to remove a fence erected in the water on Cabbage Beach.

On Sunday, a woman nearly drowned and had to be rescued after being swept by the water as she was walking around the fence.
