The Department of Cottage and Small Industry, Ministry of Economic Affairs invites applications from eligible Cottage and Small industries in Service Sector (IT & IT Enabled Services) and Production & Manufacturing Sector for the Bhutan Enterprise Awards 2022.

The best entrepreneurs for the year 2022 will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation along with cash prize of Nu. 200,000/- each for the following categories of award:

1. Small - Scale Entrepreneur of the Year
2. Cottage - Scale Entrepreneur of the Year
3. Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
4. Rural Entrepreneur of the Year
5. Service (IT & ITES) of the Year

For application form and eligibility criteria, please visit www.moea.gov.bt/www.dcsi.gov.bt. The application form can also be obtained from the nearest Regional Office of Economic Affairs/Economic Development Officers in the Dzongkhags or from the Department.

Please submit the duly filled application form along with supporting documents to the Department or email to [email protected]

The Department of Cottage and Small Industry is pleased to call an application under Industrial Development Grant Scheme (IDGS) for the fiscal year 2022-2023. The grant is exclusively for the Production and Manufacturing Sectors and the Service Sectors. The applicants from rural areas are encouraged to apply for this grant.
The IDGS application form is available at www.dcsi.gov.bt and it will be closed on October 18, 2022.

One of the best things that ever happened to me in my career as an EDO for the past two and half years is my EDO colleagues. They have been my support system from day one. You can only imagine the scenario when you are placed in an unfamiliar place or situation. You just keep on wondering you are not doing enough. The seniors EDOs have been supportive in every way possible. That’s how I found my confidence to move forward.

EDO is one of the infant posts in civil service. Some even do not know they exists and what it stands for. But we are well known among ourselves. To keep ourselves connected and to know what we are doing in our own field in different Dzongkhags, the idea of an EDO networking session was born.

The networking session is conducted virtually once every month. We just had our 8th EDO networking session very recently. Which means, we have already met Eight times for the past eight months!

As far as I know, this is the only group that keeps a strong network despite our distance and busy schedule. I always feel relaxed after the session knowing that we are the best colleagues trying with all our might to do development in the society. The networking sessions go beyond networking. It gives equal opportunity to all the EDOs to moderate the session and to invite the experts from outside our group to share their knowledge and wisdom.

Great things start from small and this is how we are starting right now. I feel such platforms needs to be given to every young civil servant to handhold and guide them in their initial areas of job posting. I for one had so much to learn through the EDO networking session.
