Grateful to have been part of the Sesigo Women in Business and Leadership Conference as a panelist on the LAND session.

The theme this year—Access to Capital, Land and Markets—really speaks to where we are as women in business.

Re buile ka dilo tse di botlhokwa thata… how we move from just owning land to actually creating value from it.

Things like:
✨ Partnerships
✨ Structuring land for income
✨ Thinking long-term, not just quick sales

One thing I said that I still stand by:
👉 Ga se fela go nna le lefatshe… ke go itse gore o le dirisa jang.
(It’s not just about owning land… it’s about how you use it.)

These conversations matter!

It was also special having my mom there; just a quiet reminder that what we build goes beyond us.

Re a leboga Sesigo for creating this platform 🙏🏽

A few years ago, I started something small… an Adopt a Child Initiative.

The idea was simple — support one child each year and walk the journey with them.

The first school that welcomed me was Tshwaragano Primary School in Old Naledi.

That’s where I met Mma Kelopang… 💔

She wasn’t loud. She didn’t need to be.
She was gentle, humble, soft-spoken… but incredibly powerful in the way she loved and led.

You could see it in the children.
You could feel it in the school.

She gave her life to those kids.

Because of her, the school grew.
Pass rates improved.
Opportunities opened.
But more than that… children were seen, guided, and cared for.

And somehow, she made space for me too.

She welcomed me into her community like I belonged.
She trusted me with her students.
She encouraged me… even when what I was building was still small and uncertain.

That kind of belief changes you.

This one hurts.

Not just because she is gone… but because people like her are rare.

The kind that serve quietly.
The kind that pour into others without expecting anything back.
The kind that leave a mark you cannot erase.

But her work did not end with her.

It lives on in every child she helped…
Every life she touched…
Every person she believed in.

I will carry what she taught me forward.

We will continue the work — in her honour.

If you feel moved to support or be part of the Adopt a Child Initiative, please reach out.

Rest well, Mma Kelopang.
You gave more than enough. 🤍

Nearly a decade ago, in 2018, I stood on stage at the Women in Business & Leadership Conference and shared my entrepreneurial journey.

At the time I spoke about starting in the property industry from humble beginnings and navigating a male-dominated sector.

One thing I said during that talk was:

“Entrepreneurship is addictive.”

Looking back today, I still believe that.

I’m honoured to be returning as a speaker at the Sesigo Women in Business & Leadership Conference, where we’ll be discussing Access to Capital, Land and Markets — an important topic for entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The journey continues.

There are moments that don’t just inspire you — they shift your perspective. Moments that remind you of the responsibility we carry as Africans and reignite the fire to play our part. The Elevate Africa Convening in Gaborone was one of those moments for me.

Sitting in a room filled with African leaders, former Presidents, policymakers, entrepreneurs, creatives and young changemakers from across the continent… I felt a deep sense of pride, but also a gentle push: Africa is calling us to rise higher.

Her Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, shared words that touched all of us:

“Brilliance in isolation is no longer a strength — it is a vulnerability Africa can no longer afford.”

It made me reflect.
Too many of us are building alone. We dream alone. We try to carry entire visions on our own shoulders. But Africa was never meant to be shaped in isolation —we are stronger together.

I left the event with a full heart and a clearer vision for the Africa we must build:

🌱 Leadership must transform lives, not just fill positions
As Wu Wei Neng shared — leadership that changes a nation requires intention, structure and action.

🤲🏽 True leadership lives among the people
Hon. Kadiva Diana Hamutumwa reminded us that leaders must stay close to the ground — to listen, understand and serve.

👧🏽👦🏾 Young people are not the “future” — we are the now
Hearing Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene speak about including youth in real decision-making made me hopeful. Our voices matter today.

🖤 Africa must know who she is
H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim reminded us that our history and identity are our power. We can’t build boldly if we don’t believe in who we are.

👑 When women lead, nations shift
The powerful voices of Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun and HRH Princess Ncengencenge Dlamini reminded us that empowering women at leadership tables is not charity — it’s strategy. Families rise. Communities rise. Nations rise.

This gathering didn’t just inspire me — it awakened something in me.
It reminded me that as young Africans, we are not waiting for a new Africa to appear… we are here to build it.

As a young founder, I am more committed than ever to:

• collaborate more intentionally
• lead with purpose and accountability
• amplify youth and women in leadership
• contribute to a united, confident and thriving Africa

I left Elevate Africa with a full heart, a sharper vision and a renewed sense of responsibility.

Shared brilliance is Africa’s power. ✨

✨ Reflections from the MIT Kuo Sharper Center Demo Day ✨

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the MIT Kuo Sharper Center Botswana Early Stage Program Demo Day at the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub — and honestly, I left feeling so inspired! 💡

It was amazing to see young entrepreneurs boldly pitching their ideas and showing what innovation in Botswana truly looks like. A few startups that stood out for me included:
💳 TselaPay – smart card payments for public transport (already being piloted with BAC students)
🤱🏽 Mamalink – connecting new mothers to healthcare and mental health support
🌱 FermaVita – turning kitchen waste into organic fertilizer that doubled tomato yields
👗 FusionAttire – helping local designers sell internationally
🔥 Navibi – a gas-level measuring device retailing at just P250
📚 Moithuti – an AI-powered tutoring platform

Unlike a competition, the startups pitched directly to investors, gaining feedback, exposure, and possible partnerships. The judging panel also offered guidance and even connected some to other African businesses working in similar areas — such an amazing show of collaboration.

We also heard from Vice President Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, who spoke about innovation and national development, and Ramachandran “Ram” Ottapathu, CEO of Choppies, who shared his journey — arriving in Botswana with only $21 and building multiple successful businesses. Truly inspiring! 🙌🏽

As someone in the real estate and property development space, I would have loved to see a few pitches from that sector too — maybe next time 😉

The biggest takeaway? Botswana’s greatest asset is its people — creative, resilient, and full of potential. The future is bright 🇧🇼✨

We had the pleasure of taking part in the 2nd Annual Big League Golf Day, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. As a proud sponsor and participant, Lesedilebone Property Developers set up a stall at the event, giving us the chance to share our services, development projects and connect with a dynamic network of industry professionals, partners, and potential clients.
The event was not only a great platform for networking, but also an enjoyable day of friendly competition, team spirit, and quality conversations with like-minded individuals. We were thrilled with the turnout and the level of engagement at our stall — it’s always exciting to share our vision and hear from others shaping the future of the property and construction space.
To top it all off, our golf teams delivered an impressive performance on the course, bringing home 1st and 3rd place finishes. It’s a result that speaks to the same dedication, strategy, and drive we apply in our business every day.
A huge thank you to Big League for putting together such a well-organized and memorable event!!

I feel Honored to have been a speaker at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Mogobe Incorporated Group ‘s impressive new warehouse facility, it is incredible to have witnessed this exciting milestone!
For business owners and enterpreneurs like me this was an awakening to rise to the occasion, to take bold steps, and to keep building and if you are looking to scale operations, streamline logistics, or expand distribution, spaces like these are game-changers. I encourage entrepreneurs and growing businesses to explore how these facilities can support your next stage of growth.
Kudos to the team behind this development, the entire Mogobe Inc team— the future looks promising!

Pressure is a Privilege!

Instead of feeling burdened by pressure, look at it from the perceptive that it’s an opportunity to do something great or be a part of something impactful. You often find yourself under pressure because you are aiming to get somewhere and doing something meaningful. Whether it’s pressure from an exam, business or sports, PRESSURE INDICATES THAT YOU ARE IN THE GAME! And it’s from pressure that we can achieve greatness.

Have a good week 🙂

I am truly honoured to have been featured on Lionesses of Africa, a global platform that highlights women entrepreneurs.

The past 13 years have seen the birth of LesediLebone Property Developers., MACO Hardware Brand OA, and recently, being at the helm of the Seneca DSC Botswana 🇧🇼 chapter.

Although there’s been incredible intentionality toward reaching this juncture, it still feels surreal at times. At the heart of it all, is the opportunity to make a tangible impact. It is always heartwarming when one’s efforts are recognised and applauded as this entrepreneurial journey has its equal measure of joys and hardships.

I am thankful to Lionesses of Africa for this excellent feature.
