The International Top Women’s Summit 2023 - A complete success.

As the Founder, I am thrilled to reflect on the tremendous success of the event. It was an honour to bring together the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, many inspiring and accomplished entrepreneurs, start-up ecosystem specialists, development organisations, business executives, the media and thought leaders from around the world to share their insights, solutions, experiences, and strategies for achieving economic equality.

The programming was thoughtfully designed to explore a range of challenges facing women in business, from gender bias, ageism to the persistent lack of access to funding and capital, second rate ex*****on and poor idea implementation as well as focus on solutions and a way forward.

The speakers and panellists were some of the brightest, wise and most influential voices in Botswana, Africa and the world, and their insights and experiences left attendees feeling empowered and inspired.

Perhaps most importantly, the summit fostered a sense of community and collaboration, Tumi Mbaakanyi best describes it as “euphoria in the room”, it was an equitable environment with wisdom nuggets and “ah haa! Moments”. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with one another, share their own experiences and challenges, and build new relationships and partnerships that will undoubtedly continue to grow and thrive in the years to come.

The next steps are to accord 200 women of ages 18-50 with scholarships to an entrepreneurship program, pair them with mentors (local and international), sign MOU’s with institutions and find partnership opportunities for them both regionally and internationally. We are also happy to announce our expansion to Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Zambia.

This past weekend I was invited by New Age Arthur Group to be a panelist at their International Top Women Summit to speak on the meaning, opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship both as founder of Tsatsi and digital entrepreneur.

It was particularly important to me to position the creative and cultural industries (CCIs) in the entrepreneurship conversation, highlighting that the two should not operate in isolation of each other.

In addition I shared how through my work as digital entrepreneur I bridge the gap between big business and the digital audience, unpacking their product offering(s) in a simplified and conversational manner.
