It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we learn of the passing of Former President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Festus Gontebanye Mogae, at the age of 86.

President Mogae faithfully served Botswana as Head of State from 1998 to 2008, dedicating his life to the development, stability, and prosperity of our nation. His leadership, wisdom, humility, and commitment to good governance earned him respect both locally and internationally.

As a nation, we mourn the loss of a distinguished statesman whose contribution to Botswana’s democracy and progress will forever remain part of our history.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and the people of Botswana during this difficult time.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
