The Government of Botswana has, on the COVID-19 Economic Response, implemented a COVID-19 Wage Subsidy under the Public Finance Management Order (Covid-19 Pandemic Relief Fund).

One of the conditions to access the subsidy is that employers must, at the least, be registered with BURS for Income Tax purposes.

Dear Karen,

I would like to submit my nomination for KGOSI K. KEAMOGETSE from Gaborone, Botswana towards the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list under the BUSINESS category. At28 years old, Kgosi is the Founder and Managing Director of Platinum Corporate Strategists (Pty) Ltd; a Business Consultancy company which has been in operation for 3 years since its establishment in February 2017.

In the year 2015, during Botswana’s 49th Independence Anniversary, Kgosi read a newspaper article in which financial and political leaders spoke of the need to diversify the economy and reduce Botswana’s dependence on mining. In the article, one of the key note speakers mentioned that finance skills played a key role on driving the diversification of the economy.

With an accounting background having studied Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) at Botho University and over 4 years’ experience in the accounting field, this was the much needed inspiration Kgosi needed to take a leap and resign from work to start his company. One of its aims is to help meet the needs of increasing demands of the financial sector in Botswana, and to particularly help boost youth entrepreneurship by providing business consultancy services which include, but not limited to, financial and accounting services - which help manage youth businesses.

Since it’s inception, Platinum Corporate Strategists (Pty) Ltd has helped over a hundred and ten (110) local SMEs from different sectors, including local musicians, dj’s, comedians, TV & radio personalities, as well as different professionals. One of Platinum Corporate Strategists greatest Milestones was being recognized and Awarded Position 3, Consultancy Category at the 2019 Botswana Youth Business Expo, organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports & Culture Development in Gaborone.

Their slogan "let's help you rise like an edifice," fuels their passion to work with clients and Kgosi’s anticipation is that through this platform, he can be able to network and form strategic partnerships with other youth-owned businesses to enable his company to expand and open other branches across Africa.
