A New Government Must Use Science, Not Knee-Jerk Reactions
A new government must be guided by science and data-driven decision-making, rather than impulsive, knee-jerk reactions. Science exists to provide solutions where tradition has failed, ensuring that governance is based on evidence and rational analysis rather than emotional appeals.
Going around Botswana addressing Kgotla meetings is not an opinion poll—it does not represent the true voice of the nation. A Kgotla meeting is not equivalent to a focus group, and the issues raised in such gatherings are not representative of the wider population. For the UDC government to be taken seriously, it must rely on scientific methods, including:
✅ Surveys
✅ Opinion Polls
✅ Customer Satisfaction Studies
These tools have been used extensively in Europe and the USA to keep democracy vibrant and ensure that governments make informed decisions based on real data, not assumptions.
Every university graduate is taught that statistics is not just a course—it is the language of research. Every responsible leader makes decisions based on data rather than personal intuition or party politics.
Yes, internal allowances and perks exist, but greed must not justify making uninformed, harmful decisions. A government that ignores science, statistics, and data is a government that fails its people. Botswana deserves leadership that prioritizes truth, evidence, and accountability.
