"As reported in the previous quarter Shumba signed a heads of agreement with Kibo Energy PLC to reposition and strategically leverage the Mabesekwa project. Under the agreement, the parties will jointly manage and oversee the development of a bespoke 300MW power station which will power a PetroChemical plant to provide Botswana and Southern Africa with liquid fuels."

Botswana, which has some of Africa's largest coal reserves, wants to cut harmful carbon emissions but is committed to using its resources for a new coal-to-liquid (CTL) refinery set to come onstream by 2025, the mines minister said on Tuesday.
