The Botswana Geoscience Institute (BGI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to community upliftment and education through a recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Reuben Mpabanga Primary School in Selebi Phikwe.
On 29 April 2026, BGI officially handed over a donation that included tables and chairs, cupboards, internet connectivity, and the fencing of the school garden. The initiative was aimed at improving the learning environment, enhancing digital access for learners, and supporting sustainable school development projects.
The donation forms part of BGIโs ongoing commitment to supporting communities through impactful and sustainable interventions, particularly in the areas of education and social development.
Speaking on behalf of the CEO during the handover, Mr. Mojaboswa Koketso, PMO Lead at BGI, highlighted the importance of creating conducive learning environments and ensuring that learners have access to resources that prepare them for a modern and connected world.
The installation of internet services is expected to significantly improve access to educational materials and digital learning opportunities, while the fencing of the school garden will help protect and sustain agricultural learning activities undertaken by the school.
The head of Reuben Mpabanga Primary School, Mrs. Thuso Makgosa, expressed heartfelt appreciation to BGI for the support, noting that the contribution will make a meaningful impact in the lives of learners and staff.
โAt BGI, we believe that meaningful development begins within communities. We remain committed to building partnerships that create long-term value and positive impact,โ said Mr Koketso.
BGI remains dedicated to implementing CSR initiatives that contribute to national development and community empowerment across Botswana.
