PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Who is a parent?
-a parent is a biological mother or father to a child.Apart from the father siring a child and the mother giving a birth to a child both of them have a responsibility to take care of the child.A foster parent is one who is taking care of a child but has got no biological or genetic connection to the child,like Joseph and Jesus Christ.
An absentee parent is that parent who is alive and has no knowledge of how his/her child is being taken care of.
Parental Involvement in ECE:This is the deliberate interest a parent takes to ensure that the Psychosocial progress of a child of the child is monitored between home and (pre)-school setting and when the child is with his/her peers.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Parents are the first educators of the child and therefore for a good foundation of learning of the child the parents have to be involved.
Whatever parents do at home have long lasting effects on children’s memory.A home which is rich in literacy and reading will produce a reading child.Children are very serious in imitating what parents and adults do.
The parental love and empathy will always keep a child psychologically stable.
The development of language in children which when they become adults linguistic competency and proficiency start at home
