✨ WHAT A POWERFUL MOTHER’S DAY 2026 CELEBRATION ✨

Ghanzi witnessed more than a celebration, we experienced a movement of healing, wisdom, empowerment, and generational connection.

Under the theme:
“Generations of Mother Wit/Wisdom: Building Empowered Mothers for Resilient Communities”

Mothers, daughters, leaders, speakers, community members, and partners gathered to honour the strength and resilience of women who continue to shape our families and communities.

From the heartfelt opening reflections on grief and healing, to the powerful pillar discussions on intuitive wisdom, generational knowledge, emotional discernment, leadership, and legacy protection, the day became a safe and inspiring space for learning, restoration, and empowerment.

One of the most touching moments was the dedication ceremony symbolising the release of pain, burdens, and grief into a new season of hope, healing, and renewed strength.

We extend our deepest appreciation to:
- Our host, Kgosi Annah Rankho
- All speakers and facilitators
- Mothers and widows who courageously shared their journeys
- Community members and attendees
- Our sponsor: Sandfire Motheo,
and partners: Botswana Prisons Gantsi, Botswana Police Services Gantsi, Gantsi Senior School, Trippe G Guesthouse for supporting community empowerment and women-centered dialogue
- Every partner who contributed towards the success of this meaningful gathering

Today reminded us that mothers are not only caregivers, they are custodians of wisdom, pillars of resilience, and builders of future generations.

As Lamp Serge, we remain committed to creating platforms that uplift communities, empower women, and preserve intergenerational wisdom.

Thank you, Ghanzi, for walking this journey with us. 💛

We are honoured to welcome Wdrss Oratile Bonang, a dedicated Social Worker at Ghanzi State Prison: a woman whose work reflects deep compassion, emotional intelligence, and the powerful role of intuition in guiding transformation.

In environments where restoration, healing, and second chances are essential, intuitive wisdom becomes a vital force. It is the ability to understand beyond what is spoken, to respond with empathy, and to nurture strength even in the most challenging circumstances.

Wdrss Oratile Bonang embodies this wisdom through her daily work, supporting individuals, restoring dignity, and contributing to stronger, more resilient communities.

In alignment with our theme:
“Generations of Mother Wit/Wisdom: Building Empowered Mothers for Resilient Communities,”

🌸 MEET OUR MOTHER’S DAY 2026 SPEAKER – PILLAR 3 🌸

As we continue unveiling the powerful voices shaping our Mother’s Day Celebrations 2026, we are proud to introduce our speaker under:
✨ Pillar 3: Common Sense Intelligence
The Naomi & Ruth Generation

We are honoured to welcome Melvis Sapwe, a woman whose life and voice reflect the beauty of practical wisdom, lived experience, and intergenerational strength.
In every community, there are women who carry not just knowledge, but understanding: the kind that guides decisions, strengthens families, and anchors younger generations. Melvis Sapwe embodies this “common sense intelligence”, the wisdom that is passed down, shared, and lived daily.

Through the lens of the Naomi & Ruth generation, her message will speak to the powerful bond between mentorship and growth, where one generation pours into another, and both are strengthened in the process.

In alignment with our theme:
“Generations of Mother Wit/Wisdom: Building Empowered Mothers for Resilient Communities,”

This session will remind us that true empowerment is not only taught it is shared, modelled, and sustained through relationships.

🌸 MOTHERS’ DAY 2026 – OFFICIAL THEME ANNOUNCEMENT 🌸

This year, we rise in honor, reflection, and power under the theme:

“Generations of Mother Wit: Building Empowered Mothers for Resilient Communities.”

Motherhood is more than nurturing, it is leadership. It is sacrifice. It is vision passed from one generation to the next. It is the quiet strength that holds families together and the bold courage that shapes the future of our communities.

In 2026, we are intentionally shifting the narrative from celebrating motherhood only in sentiment, to recognizing mothers as carriers of wisdom, architects of resilience, and pillars of transformation. From the SARAH generation of faith, to the NAOMI & RUTH generation of loyalty and endurance, to the MARY generation of spiritual strength. Every mother carries a legacy that must be seen, heard, and empowered.

This gathering is not just an event, it is a movement. A space where stories will be shared, wounds acknowledged, wisdom transferred, and strength restored. We will speak about emotional healing, discipline, generational knowledge, leadership, and the realities mothers face daily with honesty, dignity, and purpose.
📍 Gantsi Community Hall
📅 08 May 2026
⏰ 08:00 – 15:30

We call upon all mothers, daughters, leaders, partners, and the entire community to be part of this powerful moment. Because when mothers are empowered, families are strengthened. And when families are strong, communities thrive.

This is our time to honor.
This is our time to build.
This is our time to rise.

🌸 FROM GHANZI 2025 TO A GREATER 2026 --- THE LEGACY CONTINUES 🌸🇧🇼

Last year at the Main Kgotla in Ghanzi, we witnessed something powerful.

Women gathered.
Elders spoke.
Young mothers listened.
Culture was honoured.

Under the theme “Leadership with Heart: Mothers Preserving Traditions and Values,” we saw Mother Wit alive in prayer, in storytelling, in laughter, in healing.

It was more than a celebration.
It was a restoration.

We were reminded that:

🌿 When mothers are supported, families stand firm.
🌿 When traditions are preserved, identity remains strong.
🌿 When women gather, communities rise.

Now we look ahead to Mother’s Day 2026:

Generations of Mother Wit: Building Empowered Mothers for Resilient Communities

This year, we go deeper.
We strengthen intergenerational bonds.
We elevate maternal leadership.
We build empowered mothers for a stronger Botswana.

From the Kgotla to the Community Hall…
From tradition to transformation…

The legacy continues. 👑

Fa mme a ema, setšhaba se a ema.

🌿 MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS 🌿
🌿The Bond Created During Feeding & Wisdom Sharing 🌿

GANTSI ON THE 8TH MAY 2026
Gantsi Community Hall

There is something sacred about the quiet moments of feeding.

Whether through breastfeeding or simply holding a child close during mealtime, a powerful bond is formed. In that gentle space, a baby feels warmth, protection, and belonging. The rhythm of a mother’s heartbeat, the softness of her voice, the safety of her embrace, this is where trust begins.

But feeding is more than nourishment.
It is the first classroom.
It is where wisdom is shared without words.
It is where a mother’s spirit whispers strength, identity, and love into her child.

As a mother feeds, she is not only growing a body, she is shaping confidence, resilience, and emotional security. The bond created in these moments becomes the foundation upon which a child will stand in the world.

Because in every feeding moment, a legacy is being built.
