This morning, the Creative Arts and Media Sector held its Sector Level Consultative Council (SLCC) meeting, co-chaired by the Minister of Sports and Arts, Honourable Jacob Kelebeng and the Sector Chairperson, Mr Tonderai Tsara. The meeting brought together Government and Private Sector representatives, including Business Botswana CEO Ms Tumi Mbaakanyi, to discuss key sector issues and identify practical areas for collaboration.
Discussions focused on sports talent development from sustainable investments, creative sector support market access and financing and the 3 sectorsโ contribution to the economy as well as procurement therein per Cabinet Directive. The Botswana Film, Television and Performing Arts Production Incentive Programme was also discussed as a potential tool to support local production and industry growth. The meeting highlighted the need for continued GovernmentโPrivate Sector collaboration, with follow-up on the key issues raised to support practical interventions, investment and opportunities across the sector.
