Two Mondays ago, I was organizing my office, and preparing to step away for a few days, all to join and connect with leaders working to strengthen and shape the future of the Caribbean’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Reflecting now, two weeks after the CARIBEquity Conecta Caribbean ESO Summit, the energy from those sessions is still fueling my work.
As an ESO leader, it is easy to feel like you’re operating on an island, both literally and figuratively. In the Caribbean, we navigate fast-evolving environments where the “playbook” is often being written as we go. But this retreat was a powerful reminder: we are not building in isolation.
The Spirit of Collaboration:
The highlight was seeing the incredible work already happening across 15 Caribbean countries. We aren’t just neighbors; we are a unified front. To the mentors, investors, and fellow ESO leaders: your commitment to resilient innovation is the heartbeat of our region.
For Our Entrepreneurs:
This wasn’t just about a retreat; it was about strengthening the foundation. We are bringing back sharper strategies and co-created solutions to better support your growth. This mission continues internally with our team at Conecta Academy, ensuring that the insights gained at the regional level translate into real-world impact for the community we serve every day.
Gratitude to Our Partners:
Thank you to IDB Lab’s CARIBEquity Facility, the European Union Delegation in Barbados, and Bridge for Billions for seeing the vision and investing in the ecosystem leaders who drive change.
The retreat/summit was a milestone, but the real work is happening now. Let’s keep building.
