My family rented the Santa Elena Sports Complex for an event this past Easter Sunday. After my failed attempt to get the water reconnected thru the PUP Cayo Central Office, I reached out to Councilor Lin Valentine from the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council for some assistance. He in turn, spoke with Mayor Earl Trapp and I must say a HUGE THANK YOU for their immense support! The SISE Water truck showed up early yesterday morning at the facility and we were provided water to fill up all of our drums and swimming pools for our water sports activities as well to clean the toilets and have water supply for flushing. Mr. Valentine was on hand to ensure our water was delivered and was in constant communication before AND after the event. The truck driver Mr. August was extremely courteous and patient the entire time.
It is such a shame that such a wonderful facility is not being utilized to it's fullest potential. It is even more shameful that the Ministry/Office responsible for the care and upkeep of the place is not performing their duties and using politics as an excuse for not paying the water bill. We bit the bullet and opted to thoroughly CLEAN the toilets that were in the most deplorable conditions versus renting portable toilets. You can do better than this Sports Minister/Area Representative!
I want to reiterate our extreme gratitude to Lin Valentine, Mayor Trapp and the SISE Town Council for their time and support which I must add was done free of cost. Our family is forever grateful. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
