Subject: An Appeal for Non-Violence and Unity

Dear Cowards of Days & Nights

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you today as your country who strongly believes in the power of love, compassion, and understanding. I come to you with a humble request to reconsider any involvement in acts of violence, in the interests of your families and the greater community of Belize.

I understand that there are various reasons that may drive individuals toward gang affiliations or acts of violence, such as a search for power, protection, or even survival. However, I believe there is a better way to resolve conflicts and confrontations without resorting to violence. Together, we can create a safer and more nurturing environment for our families and future generations.

In recent times, Belize has experienced a steady rise in crime rates, causing distress and heartbreak within our communities. Families have suffered unimaginable losses, as the violent cycle continues, further deepening divisions among us. However, it is crucial to remember that we all share the same fears and desires for our loved ones. We are united in our hopes for a better future, free from violence and fear.

I urge you to reflect upon the consequences of the path you have chosen. Violence not only destroys lives but also tears apart the fabric of a tightly-knit community like ours. Each life lost to violence shatters the dreams and aspirations of families left behind, perpetuating a vicious cycle that tragically engulfs those involved.

Let me extend my hand in friendship and reconciliation. Working together, we can build a community that is inclusive, supportive, and safe for everyone. By turning away from violence and embracing understanding and dialogue, we can break the chains of hatred and fear that bind us.

It is said that true strength lies in forgiveness and compassion. Let us come together as a unified force for change, recognizing that our shared struggles and aspirations unite us more than divide us. Our children deserve a society that nurtures their growth, guides their actions, and instills in them the values of love and respect for one another.

Should you seek assistance or guidance in transitioning away from violence, providing support. find alternatives and opportunities to redirect your lives towards positive contributions and personal growth.

I appeal to the goodness within each of you to consider the irreversible consequences that violent actions can have on your own families. Choose unity over division, understanding over anger, and love over hatred. Together, we can create a future filled with hope, prosperity, and peace.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I sincerely hope that my words resonate with you, and that we can find a way to work together towards a better future for Belize and its people.

With profound hope and respect,

Belize

Pharaoh ants trail each other and are attracted to grease, meats, insects, and sweets. These harborage and food preferences bring it to coffee areas, kitchens, paper and other supply storage, office equipment, medical storage, laboratory benches, many kinds of biological cultures including insect-rearing chambers, hospital rooms with wound or burn patients; the ants have turned up in I.V tubes, medicine droppers, and bandage stacks.
Nesting sites include wall voids, cracks in woodwork, stacks of paper, envelopes, bed linens, bandage packs, and in desk drawers, etc. It is common to find many colonies in one building and, perhaps, several in one room. Colonies have multiple queens and increase by dividing: one portion of the colony going with each queen. No swarms have been recorded, so new infestations are apparently transferred by moving infested objects.

The Pavement Ant (Tetramorium caespitum)
Around 3 mm long, the Pavement ant has two nodes. It has a shiny abdomen but a dull red-brown head and thorax; the abdomen is darker, legs lighter. Pavement ants nest outside under rocks, at the edge of pavement, door stoops and patios. They commonly move their colonies inside between the foundation and sill plate. Outside, pavement ants tend honeydew-producing insects, and feed on other insects and seeds. Sweet- and protein-based baits are most attractive to pavement ants.
The Little Black Ant (Monomorium minimum)
This little ant is no more than 2 mm long; it has two nodes and is shiny black; the ant is widely distributed in North America. It normally nests outdoors and tends honeydew-producing insects. Baits are very effective in eliminating colonies.
The Thief Ant (Solenopsis molesta)
Less than 2 mm long, the Thief ant has 2 nodes and is shiny with a yellowish or slightly darker color; it is widely distributed throughout the United States, especially in the eastern and southern states. The Thief ant nests both inside and outside and tends honeydew-producing insects. Sweet- based baits may be helpful in eliminating colonies, but thief ants don't seem to feed on baits for extended periods of time.
Habitat Alteration
Habitat alteration provides the best long term control of structure invading garden ants.
• Remove stones that are sheltering ants.
• Recommend indoor sanitation including the elimination of moist garbage in dry weather.
• Caulk observed ant entrance points.
• Advise clients to wipe down any indoor ant trails with soapy water.
• Nests located around building foundations, doors an windows should be destroyed
The Pharaoh Ant (Monomorium pharaonis)
The Pharoh ant is a tiny ant, not much more than 2 mm long, the Pharaoh ant has two nodes. Its head and thorax are dull-yellowish to light-orange or little darker. It has a shining dark abdomen, especially at the end.
It is found in most urban centers in Canada. Pharaoh ants prefer warmer buildings and warm areas (26-29 C) in buildings for nesting. These ants are active year-round in heated buildings such as hospitals, office buildings, laboratory buildings, and food service facilities. Pharoh ants feed on a variety of materials including sweets, grease, meats, fatty foods and other insects.
