Stop putting petrochemical foam under your concrete slabs.

What if you could combine your drainage gravel AND your insulation into one single layer?

Enviro-Rock is a Canadian made Foam Glass Aggregate that does exactly that. A high-performance alternative for Building and Civil Infrastructure projects across BC.

The detention tank needed the fill above it had to stay under 500 kg/m³.

Enviro-Rock was selected to build the area back up without adding the dead load of a traditional aggregate.

Bulk delivered and placed directly into the work area in Mission.

Lightweight fill is not one material. It’s a design decision.

At the 2026 Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium, Read Fenton compared local BC pumice with Foam Glass Aggregate as lightweight fill.

The point isn’t that every material fits every job.

The point is that engineers now have another option when weight is driving the design.

Enviro-Rock is made from recycled glass, has closed-cell pores, and comes in at roughly 282 kg/m³ loose bulk density.

For projects where dead load, trucking, drainage, or site access matter, that difference is worth looking at.

New to Foam Glass Aggregate? This clip explains the basics.

This is a short clip from Read Fenton MBA P.Eng. presentation at the 2026 Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium.

Made entirely from recycled glass, foam glass aggregate is a lightweight fill that takes the load off soft ground, a practical alternative to lightweight fills for embankments, road raising, and backfill. It's free-draining and frost-resistant.

Where would it fit on your projects?

Worth mentioning there’s another option besides Styrofoam for lightweight fill. Foam glass aggregate is made from recycled glass and can reduce load while also providing drainage and insulation.

Ever wonder what happens to your glass after it's dropped off at Recycle-It? 🤔

It's actually turned into ROCK! 🪨🪨🪨 Not just any rock... Enviro-Rock! 😮

Your glass is shipped to 🚘 Enviro-Corp Recycling in Quesnel, BC,🚛 where their innovative process turns old glass bottles and jars into an innovative product called "Enviro-Rock." 🪨

Here's the full CBC interview. It's worth the watch we promise! 😀 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r5wKtSu0j4

Did we see you at VGS last Friday?

Enviro-Corp Recycling was at the 32nd Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium with Enviro-Rock samples at Booth #12.

It was great talking with engineers, contractors, and geotechnical professionals about lightweight Foam Glass Aggregate and where Enviro-Rock fits in real site conditions.

We were also glad to see Read Fenton MBA P.Eng. with Jason Thai presentation on "Foamed Glass Aggregate as Lightweight Fill.”

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and picked up a sample.

Big week for Enviro-Rock at the Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium.

Enviro-Corp will be attending the 32nd VGS Symposium this Friday at Paradox Vancouver.

Come visit us at Booth #12 to talk Enviro-Rock, lightweight fill, drainage, and where Foam Glass Aggregate fits in real project conditions.

Read Fenton and Jason Thai will also be presenting, with Jason scheduled for “Foamed Glass Aggregate as Lightweight Fill” at 3:10 PM.

See you there.

This Metrotown site didn’t need more weight.

A couple weeks ago, Enviro-Rock was delivered to a Concord Pacific project in Metrotown, Vancouver.

At roughly 250 kg/m³, our Foam Glass Aggregate is about 90% lighter than traditional gravel, helping reduce trucking, site loading, and handling time.
