BC Wildfire Service has issued a prohibition of off-road vehicle use (including ATV’s, motorcycles, and side by sides) on Crown Land. Be sure to read the full release for details on all current prohibitions and restrictions.

Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.

📍 Brunswick Fire Complex, Boston Bar

On Wednesday, July 22, firefighters from the Agassiz Fire Department deployed to help support first responders dealing with the Brunswick Creek wildfire in Boston Bar. Two Agassiz firefighters and two North Fraser firefighters stepped up to help protect our neighbours and keep communities across British Columbia safe.

Please join us in wishing them a safe deployment and thanking all first responders for their tireless efforts.

The District of Kent’s annual burning ban continues to be in effect until October 1, 2026. In addition, campfires will also be prohibited effective noon on July 16, 2026 to align with the upcoming Category 1, 2, and 3 Camp Fire Prohibition along the Coastal Fire Centre jurisdiction.

Use of CSA rated or ULC rated devices including propane fire pits, outdoor stoves, and charcoal briquettes are still permitted.

Prohibitions will remain in place until further notice, to stay up to date on current fire prohibitions we recommend following the BC Wildfire Service page.
