September 11, 2001 — a day the world would never forget.

I was at home that morning at 5:30 a.m., feeding my baby and turning on the television, never imagining that I was about to witness one of the most devastating and heartbreaking events in history.

Even though I am Canadian, my heart was deeply saddened by the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless people who showed incredible courage and compassion that day.

So many years have passed, but some moments remain forever etched in our memories. We remember the innocent lives lost. We remember the families who had to say goodbye. We remember the first responders and all those who ran toward danger to help others.

Today, I pause with a heavy heart and offer my deepest respect to everyone affected by September 11.

We remember. We honour. We will never forget. 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸

September 11, 2001 — forever remembered.
