Hi everyone! 👋🍵

I’m Maho, founder of Hasegawa Trading Co., a new local Japanese tea business serving the Calgary & Airdrie area.

I’m originally from Shizuoka, Japan, one of Japan’s most famous tea-producing regions. I started this business because I wanted to bring authentic, high-quality Shizuoka tea to Canada and share the tea culture I grew up with. 🇯🇵🍃

We work directly with a tea producer in Shizuoka and offer a selection of Japanese matcha, sencha, hojicha, genmaicha, and other specialty teas.

The photo I’m sharing was taken during my own visit to our tea producer in Shizuoka — this is where our tea actually comes from. 🍃

We’re also currently looking to connect with local cafés and restaurants that are looking for high-quality Japanese matcha for their business. We offer wholesale Shizuoka matcha, and I’d love to connect with local business owners who are interested in upgrading their matcha or adding authentic Japanese matcha to their menu.

We’re brand new, so I’m very excited to introduce ourselves to the local community and connect with fellow local businesses and tea lovers! 💚

Freshly picked tea leaves arrive at the factory and immediately begin their journey from fresh leaf to Japanese green tea. 🍵

For us, knowing exactly where our tea comes from and who makes it is important.
