What if your content didn't just fill the feed, what if it actually worked for your business?

Every Monday in The Content Shift, that's exactly what we explore. I share 5-7 content ideas (complete with goals and hooks) designed to help established experts think about content in a completely different way.

This week's ideas? Built for summer. Built for your people. Built for real results.

Come see what we're building. 👇

Here's what I see happen every long weekend: creators either ghost completely or they're posting generic content they threw together at the last minute.

Both feel unsustainable.

The thing is, you don't need to disappear or burn yourself out right before time off. You just need to build your content plan around your actual reality, not around some ideal version of "consistency."

That ideal version?

It usually looks like daily posts, constant engagement, always being on. But that's not consistency. That's performance. And it falls apart the second life happens; a long weekend, a client project, literally anything that pulls your attention.

Real consistency is knowing which platforms actually need fresh, authentic content from you and which ones can run on evergreen material. It's having a system where you're not scrambling to fill the feed with something forgettable just to stay visible.

Your audience didn't follow you for generic.

They followed you for you. So don't post just to post.

Your audience will still be there. Your business will still function. And you get to actually take the weekend.

Instants launched this week and yeah, I jumped on it too. Raw, unfiltered, Snapchat-style content.

But here's what I'm actually asking myself: does my audience need another place to find me, or do they need me intentional about where I already am?

I'm testing it for real over the next few weeks. Not because algorithms reward early adopters (they do, but that's not the point). Because if it genuinely serves how my people want to connect, it deserves a spot in my ecosystem.

Spoiler: most platforms don't. And that's okay.

What platform are you considering removing from your strategy instead of adding to it?

Treat Social Media as a Tool—Not a Test...

05/12/2026

Over the years as a social media manager, there’s one thing I kept noticing across almost every business I worked with:

The problem usually wasn’t just social media.

Social media was simply where the disconnect became visible.

Some days I don’t post not because I don’t have ideas…

but because life and idea volume collide.

I’m running a business.
Supporting clients.
Living a full life.

And my brain still collects ideas constantly.

Notes.
Voice memos.
Saved posts.
And 10000s of screenshots that die the second I save them.

Not because I’m scared to post.
Not because I need things to be perfect.

But because some days, capacity and idea volume collide.

And when life takes over?

The ideas get saved instead of used.

That doesn’t mean the system failed.
It means life happened.

This is also why I’ve never pretended to have it all figured out.

I’m still actively building systems that support showing up when life is loud, busy, and unpredictable.

Not systems for “ideal” days.
Systems for real ones.

Because the truth is:
you don’t need more ideas.
You need systems that still work when your capacity drops.

If you’re balancing business, life, and a brain full of ideas…
you’re not inconsistent.

You’re navigating volume in a full life.

Be honest, how many screenshots are sitting in your camera roll right now? 👀

Your audience is already telling you what they want. The question is whether you're listening.

Someone in my community spent two weeks posting questions and comments on colored backgrounds.

Crickets.

Then she posted two 90-second videos and they blew up. Her reaction was exactly right: "I guess they told me what they want."

That's the whole lesson. Format matters, not because one format is better than another, but because your specific audience has preferences, and the only way to learn them is to experiment and pay attention.

Or you can skip some of the guesswork and just ask them outright. A genuine "what kind of content do you want to see from me?" can tell you more than months of trial and error.

Ss we head into April I'm sharing ideas that give you room to experiment across formats. The 30 Content Ideas for April are waiting for you inside The Content Shift on Skool, my free community, part of my premium membership offer (valued at $250) and completely free when you join.

Happy April Fools Day 😄

As a social media strategist, this is genuinely one of my favourite days of the year.

The best brand pranks? You almost believe them. They're cheeky, well thought out, and if it wasn't April 1st you'd scroll right past thinking they were real.

These two are my favourites today:

Heinz UK decided matcha needed to be a condiment now. Green mayo. It exists. We're just living in it.

Edmonton International Airport launched the "Love Bird" ticket — for when you need to sprint through the airport and stop your person from boarding at the last minute. Full Hallmark movie. Full chaos. Fully genius.

Have you found any good ones today? 👇

Happy Gotcha Day to our Chief Fur Officer.

She contributes nothing to revenue.
Sleeps through most meetings.
Demands snacks at random intervals.

Morale has never been higher.

Best hire I ever made.
