Airdrie is holding a thank you parade past urgent care, Details below:

Get ready to hear sirens tonight! Airdrie's first responders are planning a salute to Airdrie healthcare workers with a parade past Urgent Care - with lights a-blazing! The parade starts at the Chinook Wind fire hall at approx 7 pm and travels east on Yankee Valley Boulevard, then north on Main Street past Urgent Care. The parade will continue to Veterans Boulevard and then west to 8th Street and back south to the fire hall.
If you get the chance to watch remember to practice social distancing. It will be livestreamed on AIR 106.1 FM for those at home.
Turn your porch lights on and make some noise for our Airdrie and area healthcare workers!!!!

Update #2- homicide investigation
*Car has been located as of Sunday, March 15

Investigators need help locating a car thought to be connected to the suspicious death of an innocent business owner.

The victim, who detectives believe had a fatal confrontation with at least three suspects outside of his business in the 3800 block of Bow Trail S.W., died at the scene on Saturday, March 14, 2020. He was waiting for his business to be secured following an earlier break and enter. It is believed the three suspects were attempting to gain access into an adjoining cannabis store through the victim’s business.

We are searching for information about a black Dodge Caliber that has a distinctive chrome gas cap located on the driver’s side of the car. This vehicle was captured on CCTV in the area at the time of the incident – between 3 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. A photo of the vehicle in question is being released in hopes of generating tips from the public.

Homicide Unit officers continue to ask anyone with information about any cannabis store break and enters in the last month to contact the police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or the Homicide Unit Tip Line at 403-428-8877.

Additional details regarding this case will be released following the autopsy on Monday, March 16, 2020.
