This morning this sweet girl got her first invitation to a birthday party in her cubby at daycare. 🥹

This got me down a little rabbit hole reflecting on the transition to two. One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give is that it’s OKAY to need days without your toddler. Putting her in preschool two days a week and also having family who’s always willing to take her for a day when I just need a break has been the biggest gift for our family in this season.

She thrives in a school setting and gets so excited when it’s a “school” day. I get extra special quality time with our little babe. And I actually get a day to take care of ME (and our house 😉).

This doesn’t make me a bad mom or mean that I don’t love her, because trust me this girl has stolen my heart. It’s simply what’s best for our family right now and make our days together that much more enjoyable. 💛

Happy 3 months to this serious and smiley girl!

To all my mama friends adjusting to life with two I want to encourage you that it gets easier. Every day and week. This month was all about settling back into routine again, feeling like myself again physically (post c-section), Char getting used to life with a sister and being able to soak up all the joy this little one brings to our life. 💛

Last night I had a dream that reminded me to GIVE THANKS!

So today I’m focusing on gratitude.

I’m thankful for this beautiful family I’ve been given.

These girls who make me smile and bring me joy. I never knew my heart could love so deeply.

And my husband who is such an amazing dad. He does so much for our family. Such a joy to watch him love our girls.

SO THANKFUL! 💛

This quote {swipe right} is really hitting home for me today.

Charlotte has been fighting a cold all week and Amaiya was up all night with a stuffy nose and just wanting some extra snuggles today.

Life with two is a juggling act. Trying to split your attention between two little ones and keep up with all the daily tasks.

During Amaiya’s nap this morning I strapped her into the carrier and Char and I went and played outside raking and jumping in the leaves and soaking up the sunshine for an hour. Giving her this undivided attention is exactly what she needed.

Then we came inside and she was able to play independently while I made lunch and nursed.

I often catch myself going through my day trying to do it all. Cook, clean, give everyone my attention all at once. That simply doesn’t work and leaves my kids with only 10% of me.

Trying to be intentional about carving out little pockets of our busy day where I can be fully present and then knowing that the other times it’s okay to have a little bit of extra screen time or independent play.
