Heads up: the AFD will be staging our annual marina practice this Saturday, June 6, as we sharpen our skills to address boat fires. The Anglemont Marina will be a busy place from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. We apologize for the disruption.

Effective at 12:00 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on May 7, 2026, Category 2 and 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre. A map of the affected area is available here.

In addition to Category 2 and Category 3 open fires being prohibited, the following activities and equipment are also restricted:
• Air curtain burners
• Carbonizers
• Binary exploding targets
• Fireworks, as defined in the Fireworks Act of BC
• Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description, except when used for a Category 1 campfire as defined in the Wildfire Regulation
• Controlled air incinerators

This open fire prohibition will remain in effect until 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Oct. 19, 2026, or until the orders are rescinded.
