THE STORY BEHIND THE GLOW: VINTAGE EMPIRE-STYLE MIRRORED SCONCES

BID NOW at: http://bid.maregold.com

Imagine an old coastal estate, where the evening light fades and the gentle glow of candlelight takes over. For decades, a pair of ornate brass sconces just like these hung in a grand hallway, serving as silent witnesses to history. Cast in the elegant, classical Empire style, they were designed not just to hold light, but to amplify it.

Every evening, two fresh candles would be lit. The heavy, detailed brass framing would catch the flicker, while the central oval mirrors would double the warmth, casting soft, dancing shadows across the room. Beneath the flames, the long, clear crystal prisms acted like pure ice, catching the firelight and scattering tiny, rainbow-coloured beams onto the walls and ceiling.
As decades passed, these sconces moved from grand hallways to packed heirloom boxes, waiting for the day their story would continue. Now, beautifully preserved with a rich, authentic patina, they have emerged from the past and are ready for their next chapter.
Perfect for a dining room, a cozy entryway, or flanking a vintage vanity, these aren't just light fixtures—they are conversation pieces steeped in old-world romance.

Height: 18–20 inches
Width: 8–9 inches
Don't miss your chance to own a piece of timeless elegance. The online auction officially ends at 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 30th.
