One of these will be mounted when I get back from Alberta in a few weeks for with a pair of antlers from a nice big buck.

This is going to be a hanging basket for plants, for in the bay window of my addition. Steam bent frame to support the weight, is claded cedar. Stay tuned for the paint job in the next few weeks.

Not bad for a guy who hails from a family of tall ship builders, but has never built a ship.

Comissions available all summer.

Hey guys! I have put one of my ukuleles up for sale on kijiji. If you may know someone who is interested feel free to share!

This is a Tahitian style Ukulele. It is hand carved from black cherry and topped off with a cedar sound board salvaged from the floods in Alberta back in 2013.

The sound board is a water drop shape, with a hand carved river running beneath the frets and into the sound board with a large wave being the focal point of this beautiful instrument.

If interested, send me a message on here or email [email protected].

Thanks!

Hey guys!
Im still here, just been in the bush for the last few months doing the things I love to do!

Including some carving, between whitewater sup boarding and rafting of course!

This summer I pushed my comfort zone and went with something different. If you know my family you know we can barely stomp our foot to a beat without falling over and rythm seems to be non existent in our genes. But for some reason I thought I would be able to build an instrument, and I was!

I built two Tahitian style ukelele's. They are built out of one solid piece of wood, in this case black cherry is what I decided to go with, after carving a bowl with my kutzall disk and angle grinder I closed the bowl off with some reclaimed cedar from an old sauna that went down the river in the 2013 floods in Alberta. The sound of these uke's certainly is a cross between a traditional uke and a banjo, it's something to hear, that's for sure!

I decided on a Tahitian style uke simply because with the solid body it gave me endless possibilities of designs, and building it outdoors in the bush I didn't want to be gluing and bending a hollow body uke. relying on weather in the mountains is not a good idea!

The dolphin uke is my lovely wife's, who gave me the inspiration to build these when she said she wanted to learn to play one but didn't have one to play!

The wave ukelele is up for sale, and I will take offers, but will be putting it up for auction at some point, if it doesn't sell before that!

The wave-

Soprano ukelele
Reclaimed cedar sound board
Solid black cherry body
Hand carved river in neck
Integral fret board

All finished!
