You’ve probably heard both terms on your auto insurance — but what’s the difference?

💥 Collision coverage generally covers damage to your vehicle when it collides with another vehicle or object.

🌳 Comprehensive coverage generally covers certain non-collision losses, such as:
• Theft
• Vandalism
• Hail
• Fire
• Falling objects
• Hitting an animal 🦌

An easy way to remember it:

Collision = your vehicle hits something.
Comprehensive = something happens to your vehicle — including an unexpected run-in with wildlife! 🦌

💡 Insurance 101: What’s a deductible?

You’ve probably seen a deductible listed on your home or auto policy — $500, $1,000, $2,500… but do you actually know what it means?

Simply put, your deductible is the portion of a covered loss that you’re responsible for.

👉 If you have a covered $5,000 loss and a $1,000 deductible, generally your insurance would cover the remaining $4,000.*

Your deductible can also impact the cost of your insurance. Choosing the right deductible is about finding a balance between what you pay for coverage and what you’d be comfortable paying if you had a claim.

The important part? Know what your deductible is BEFORE you need to make a claim.
