A DH week appreciation post for my business partner, Sam, your level of clinical excellence is undeniable. The way you think, question, refine, and execute in practice is what makes you such an exceptional clinician but it’s also what makes you my favourite person to nerd out with.

This is your reminder that who you surround yourself with in dental hygiene matters.
Your “tribe” will shape your standards, your confidence, and your growth.

Find the people who:
💜challenge your thinking
💜celebrate evidence-based care
💜invest in learning beyond the op
💜show up to study clubs, courses, and industry events with intention

Because when you do, everything changes. Your practice evolves. Your voice gets stronger. Your confidence becomes unshakable.

And sometimes… you get lucky enough to build something alongside them 💜

Hygienists make these small impacts in patient care every hour to gain trust and solidarity chairside. Being recognized for this by our leadership team reinforces that we aren’t “cleaning” we are providing quality care. Healthcare to be specific.

What an incredible venue for learning and collaboration. I’m so excited to attend again next year!

The Summit favored really thoughtful learning for the team and a group of supportive vendors. It felt like community, inspiration and growth. I can’t say enough good things about this event.

Last night at Calgary Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Connect, we had the opportunity to learn from the best with fellow dental professionals to elevate awareness around oral cancer detection.

Key reminders for every clinician:
• Persistent ulcers are never routine
• Unexplained lumps, induration, or tissue changes matter
• Dysphagia, hoarseness, or numbness = red flags
• High-risk patients aren’t the only patients at risk

Early detection is not optional, it’s our responsibility.

Knowing what to look for, understanding common and uncommon presentations, and having confidence in your referral process can change outcomes. Thank you
