🌲🔥📜Fire Update, Saturday Aug 15📜🔥🌲

🔥K21621 (Birch Island area) After all the air action and exciting suppression efforts yesterday on this fire, crews were successful in their objectives. This fire is now listed as “Being Held” to an area of 1 hector. BC Wildfire Service continues to action this fire with an Initial Attack Crew and 2 Para Attack Crews. A local water tender is supporting the site as well. There is not expected to be any Helicopter activity today, but this resources is just an ask away if conditions change. This fire was a result of the lightning event that passed through the area a few nights ago.

🔥K21312 (Saskum Lake) Crews, including the Simpcw IA Crew, remain actioning this fire. Process continues to be made to contain and suppress this fire. Steep challenging ground continues to be part of the day to day operations on this fire.

😊All other fires listed in previous updates have been actioned and are now listed as “Out.” Amazing response by our fire fighters and their support systems.

⚡️The lightning that past through a few days ago may have left a few more starts that may pop up over the next few days. Monitoring for these starts is all be part of the game plan over the next few days.

Update as of 1800 hrs today fire is listed as out
Update as of 1800 hrs. Yesterday Bcwf reports the mount loveway fire as being held

For those wondering about the wildfire K21533 located above the Roundtop Hwy5 area, off of the Loveway FSR. Blackpool and Little Fort fire crews were up to the area. Bcwf IA crews were already on site and preparing to start working the fire with a heli as support.
Little Fort team members opened the road trail to quartz lake as a water source at the request of BCWF. Public is asked to stay out of the area to allow IA crews road access. Our crews were not required for any further assistance. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance as needed.
