⚡ BC HYDRO – RESCHEDULED PLANNED POWER OUTAGE ⚡

Attention Chu Chua residents: The planned power outage originally scheduled for October 18 has been moved to:

🗓 Sunday, October 25, 2026
🕛 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
⏳ Approximately 2.5 hours

BC Hydro will be completing important maintenance on the transmission line serving the North Thompson Valley.

Please plan ahead by charging your phones and devices and having flashlights ready. Keep fridge and freezer doors closed during the outage.

🔥 FIRE BAN UPDATE – CHU CHUA 🔥

Good news as we move into fall.

Effective 12:00 noon on Friday, October 2, 2026, the BC Wildfire Service will be lifting the Category 2 and Category 3 open fire prohibitions throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre, which includes Chu Chua.

This means Category 2 and 3 open burning will once again be permitted. Burn barrels and burn cages, air curtain burners, carbonizers, controlled air incinerators, fireworks and binary exploding targets will also be permitted.

Even though the restrictions are being lifted, please continue to use caution when burning. Make sure your fire is completely out before leaving it unattended and have enough water and tools nearby to control it.

For larger burns, please make sure you have any required burn registration number and check conditions before lighting.
