Congratulations to a fantastic client who has received news, finally, that his sister was approved for PR at the end of last week! We are so excited for this as the file was not straight forward at all. The much anticipated approval arrived at the end of a stressful day, with all of the LMIA programs changing, yet again, and completely made our week here at CPI!

We also had a spousal sponsorship approved in less than 5 months and we have another sponsorship in process that is making amazing time, with medicals already completed after being in process only a couple of months.

Myself and the CPI team will be working around the clock in anticipation of the changes to the LMIA rules to get as many LMIA's submitted before the September 26th chances come into play. We will do our very best for each of our clients and will update everyone accordingly, as new information is announced.

Please remain patient as we are all dealing with the changes and trying to find the best solution possible for each of our valued clients, and potential clients.

We are all waiting also for the AAIP to announce their new Expression of Interest system and will reach out to all that have been assessed prior to the program pause to notify of next steps or changes to eligibility etc.

Just do remember that we are doing our best as we work within the parameters of the law.

The reason that the rules are changing is due to the fact that there are simply some shady employers and consultants that will "sell" their LMIA spots to profit and or they are taking advantage of their temporary foreign workers. These are unfair and illegal practices that should not be permitted to continue.

The changes are being made to safeguard Canada and the residents (Temporary and Permanent) and to safeguard the integrity of the temporary foreign worker program and the Canadian Labour Market; changes must be made and not everyone will agree with the changes and not everyone will benefit from them either. There will be no way to satisfy everyone here and that is unfortunate but out of our control.

So many changes are happening with Immigration, Provincial Nominee Programs and with Service Canada (LMIA's) these days. Kindly note that we will see the new AAIP Expression of Interest process roll out at the end of this month. On September 26th 2024 we should see how the limitations imposed will impact Canadian Employers and Temporary Foreign Workers in the new future.

The spike in rejections of foreign travelers comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal government, trailing in polls ahead of an election expected next year, tries to lower the numbers of temporary residents - and possibly permanent immigrants.

We know everyone is anxious as we are all waiting for news to see IF and or HOW clients will be impacted however, we must all be patient. As soon as we have answers, we will be reaching out and posting updates!

Some of you may already know, that the system to apply for the AAIP has not been worked well so it is amazing to see the announcement, that The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program will launch a new expression of interest system on September 30, 2024.

As a result of this new system, AAIP will not proceed with the remaining monthly application acceptance dates for 2024.

There will be a new ranking system announced sometime prior to September 30, 2024 so stay tuned!

IF you are already a client and we have completed an assessment or you are waiting for an assessment, all of our clients will be ranked accordingly.

Please be patient while we are all waiting for news.

BUSY BUSY BUSY! What a great week so far for CPI and our amazing clients! Our team is working tirelessly to provide amazing services and exceptional results.

We have received confirmation of a PR file being approved for an awesome client via the AAIP Rural Renewal Stream, a 204 C Letter of support for another client, a family was approved to come to Canada to be their loved one as temporary residents from Philippines, 2 sous chefs were approved in about a month after we submitted their files (one in Saudi and the other in Bahrain) and a baby approved in under a month to join her parents in Canada.

We have also had additional success this week with a restoration of status for an amazing client in BC who is now back to work and another certificate of nomination via the AAIP approved, not to mention the files that we have submitted for workers, Permanent Residence in the economic categories, spousal sponsorships and ALL the LMIA applications submitted over the last 2 weeks! We are on fire!

Thank you everyone for trusting us here at Canadian Portal Immigration!

Busy couple of weeks here at Canadian Portal Immigration with submissions, an approval for a spouse and child this morning to reunify in Canada with their family, a couple of AAIP Certificates of Nomination and 204 c letters approved, a file number received for an out of Canada Spousal Sponsorship and a ton of LMIA's submitted over the last couple of weeks as well and an approval for a worker that had fallen out of status, was put back into work status as well! We could not be much happier!

We also have received 2 refusals for spouses open permits and children that applied to come to Canada as temporary residents to be with family that was here on work permits. Keep in mind when applying for your family that each family member added will weaken the application because they are effectively losing a tie outside of Canada, meaning that a visa officer can decide, if there are no longer compelling reasons that your family would leave Canada at the end of their authorized stay, to refuse the applications. This type of file is not black and while and a visa officer does have the right to their opinion which is very difficult to fight however, if we see a window of opportunity to push back when we get a refusal, we will advocate for our clients whenever possible!

A few things to remember if you are in Canada and are already working.

You are responsible for maintaining your status. If you need a new LMIA, you must speak to your employer at least 6 moths prior to your current permit expiring! They need time to apply for a LMIA.

If you have your family with you in Canada, their permits will/should expire at the same time as your permit expires. All should be renewed at the same time, whenever possible.

All applicants must have a valid passport.

Processing times are guidelines and not guarantees, so plan ahead!

Government Fees have gone up...this happens on average every 2 years. Don't be surprised and done shoot the messenger!
