This fall, we worked on a project on Sable Island, that special place 200km off shore, right in the Atlantic Ocean. Sometimes, a little more preparation than simply loading up the truck in the morning is required to "make the magic happen", and this one was certainly at the top of our coordination challenges on the list.

On December 16th, the government finally announced publicly the project so we can finally share some pictures and a short video of our 11 day workation on one of the most special places on earth.

The guys at Able Electric made this project possible for Parks Canada by planning the whole project, and we are proud to have been chosen to do the helical pile, Opsun solar racking installation , solar panel installation and utility slab for this project.

Without the assistance from the great staff from Parks Canada, we would have been stranded or in a jam about half a dozen times, but these guys are always ready.

A special thank you to Zoe from Sable Island Institute for all the picture and Videos, as well as the shared knowledge and history, what a gem.

Thanks again to Stephane and Yanic, this was a success.

This week, we completed a handrail, built on site, adapted to the existing grade!

The count down has begun! This September, we are heading for about half a month to tackle one of the most remote piling job imaginable. I've been dreaming about this one for almost 5 years, when I first heard of a feasibility study to put solar panels on Sable Island off the shore of Nova Scotia.

That being said, we are wide open for business until then and the catching up after will require headlamps and coffee for sure!

Le compte à rebours a commencé ! Ce septembre, nous partons pour environ deux semaines pour entreprendre l'un des travaux de battage les plus isolés qu'on puisse imaginer. J'en rêve depuis presque 5 ans, depuis que j'ai entendu parler d'une étude de faisabilité pour installer des panneaux solaires sur l'île au Sable, au large des côtes de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

Cela dit, nous sommes pleinement disponibles pour les faire vos travaux jusque-là, et le rattrapage après nécessitera certainement des lampes frontales et du café !

We are starting an interesting project with some 20' long 8.625" diameter piles. We might need each of the 30,000ft.lbs our machine has to offer on this one. Stay tuned for the final result!

Nous débutons présentement un project très intéressant avec ces pieux de 20' de longeur, 8.625" de diamètre en un morceau. Nous risquons d'avoir besoin de chacun des 30,000lbs.pi que notre machine a à donné pour ceux-ci. Attendez de voir le résultat final!
