Fire apparatus are more than just trucks; they're complex, vital pieces of life-saving equipment.

That's why, at TFM, we go above and beyond when it comes to service and repair. Recognizing that every fire truck is unique – often custom-built with slight variations – we don't rely on generic information. Instead, we start by gathering serial numbers and then reaching out to the original manufacturer. We request the original plate drawings, service manuals, and built sheets, creating a digital file for each of your department's vehicles. Knowing that we often work in remote areas of Newfoundland where cell service can be unreliable, we also print and laminate this crucial data. This ensures we're always prepared to accurately diagnose and repair your apparatus, no matter where the job takes us.

Thank you for entrusting TFM with the care and maintenance of your equipment. We're dedicated to continuously improving and expanding our services to meet your needs."

Been super busy and haven't posted much lately. Got to take a little break during a snow storm and build a little push bar for the front of this old tractor. As you can see by the grille and headlight lense, or lack of, it needed a push bar 10 years ago πŸ˜‚

First job today was replacing a gear and bearing on this rear mount snowblower before the snow starts tonight, that wasnt too bad.

Second job was freeing up siezed components on a seeder. This attachment was built in France and works by using magic and a bunch of moving parts. I have no idea who comes up with these things but im sure there was drugs involved lol. Anyway, the siezed parts are now moving again and its ready for spring when planting starts.

A local volunteer fire department reached out about foam issues on one of their trucks. The foam system injects a small amount of foam concentrate into the water flow when needed by the firefighters to aid in extinguishing certain types of fires.

The issue with this truck was the foam pump was not turning on at all when requested and it was found the flow meter had failed, replaced this component and pump is now turning on with the foam controller.

This system works well, but the foam concentrate can be corrosive to components like the injector and it tends to stick open and slowly leak foam into the pump. Swapped out the injector and this issue was also corrected.

Every truck usually gets a quick check over for any visual problems and a couple of minor issues were noted and TFM will head back once the parts arrive, keeping this truck on active fire duty in the area.
