We have a library of published and unpublished customs intelligence which enables our clients to get duty relief and refunds of overpaid duties.
Here's an example: On Nov. 17, 2016, the President of the CBSA issued Ruling F0350662 which took coconut water from 11% duty to duty free tariff item 2009.89.10. Only the appellant was notified, nobody else.
Some of Canada’s most sophisticated importers continued to pay 11% duty on their coconut water imports while one importer was authorized by the President to import the same goods duty free. We provided this information to a new client which was paying 11% duty on their coconut water imports. We then helped them get the goods to duty free and get a refund on all of the overpaid duties going back four years.
