Is it just me or does spring make everyone want to gather?

New quarter, longer days, that pull toward wanting to be around the right people and actually do something meaningful together.

If you have been sitting on an idea for an event, a dinner, a workshop, anything you have been meaning to put together, I want to hear about it. Drop it in the comments. No judgment, no pitch. Just curious what people are building.

Something I want to break down because I think it gets misunderstood.

Designing an event with intention does not mean micromanaging every detail or having an elaborate theme. It means making a few decisions early, before the planning starts, and letting everything flow from those.

What is this event actually for? How should the room open? What should people feel when they leave?

Those decisions shape the agenda, the pacing, the close. When they are made clearly, the event coheres. When they are skipped, even a well-run event can feel like it missed something.

Does this resonate? I would love to hear what people find most confusing about putting an event together.

Something worth sharing from the SXSW 2026 recaps this week.

The experiences that people are still talking about were not the biggest or the most produced. They were the most intentional. The ones where every detail felt like it was there for a reason.

The ones that flopped had money behind them and no clear strategy behind the experience.

Sound familiar? I see this pattern all the time with entrepreneur-hosted events too. The budget is not the problem. The missing intention is.

What would it look like if your next gathering had a clear answer to: what is this supposed to do and what should people feel when it is over?

Drop your thoughts below.

This work is not for everyone. But it might be for you.

You have been thinking about hosting something. A dinner. A workshop. A curated gathering for the people you most want in a room together.

You keep putting it off because you are not sure where to start, or because the logistics feel overwhelming, or because some quiet part of you is not sure you are ready to be the one at the front of the room.

You are not looking for an event planner. You already know it is more than that.

You want the experience to actually mean something. To feel like you. To do something for your positioning that does not require you to explain it afterward.

That is exactly what I design for.

If any part of this sounds like you, send me a message. I work with a small number of clients at a time and I would love to hear what you are building.

I have been getting a lot of questions this week about what event experience strategy actually means, so let me break it down simply.

It is not event planning. It is not decorating a room or managing a vendor list.

It is the thinking that happens before any of that.

What is this event actually for? What should people feel when they leave? Who specifically should be in the room and why?

Those questions sound simple. But most entrepreneurs skip them entirely and then wonder why the event felt scattered or disconnected from who they actually are.

That is what I help with. The strategy behind the experience.

Questions? Drop them below. I am happy to talk through it.

I want to share something with you all today because this community deserves to hear it first.

My work is evolving.

For a long time I was the person you called when things were already in motion. I was good at showing up and making it work. But I kept noticing that the most important decisions, the ones about what an event was actually for and what it was supposed to do for the person hosting it, were being made by accident. Or not made at all.

I spent years as a 911 dispatcher. That career taught me that outcomes are shaped by the structure you build before the moment arrives. You cannot improvise clarity. You design for it.

That is what I do now.

I am an Event Experience Strategist. I help entrepreneurs design intentional events that build authority, create real connection, and actually reflect who they are and where they are going.

Same me. Sharper focus. And honestly, the most aligned I have ever felt in this work.

I am so grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. More to come.

I stopped offering long-term design support because it never fully matched how small business owners actually work.

Most people don’t need ongoing help every month. They need time, focus, and someone to help them make clear decisions without dragging things out.

That’s exactly why I created VIP Design Days. One full day of focused Canva support to bring clarity, cohesion, and momentum to your brand. No long-term commitment. Just real progress in one day.

If you’ve been wishing you could sit down and finally get things sorted, this might be a good fit.

This has been sitting on my heart for a while.
And I’m finally ready to share it.

I’m introducing VIP Design Days. A full day of focused Canva support to bring clarity, cohesion, and momentum to your brand. No long-term commitment. Just real progress in one day.

This is for the business owners who know what they want to say, but get stuck trying to make everything look right. The ones who don’t need more ideas, they need space, structure, and someone in their corner helping them see clearly.

There will be one spot in January and two in February. That’s it for now.

If you’ve been wishing you could just sit down, focus, and finally get your Canva sorted in a way that actually makes sense, this is for you.

And because it’s my birthday? I’m offering a 15% discount on those three slots! Comment VIP to get all the details.

If Canva is starting to feel a little stale, it’s probably not you.
It’s the templates you keep reaching for.

Trying a few new styles can make a huge difference without blowing up your whole brand. More texture. More personality. Less perfectly polished everything.

These keywords will help you find templates that *actually* feel fresh for 2026.

Save this for the next time you open Canva and think, “why does everything look the same?!?!?!”

I’m not leaving everything behind this year.
Just the parts that never fit.

Canva calling 2026 Imperfect by Design felt less like a trend and more like a quiet confirmation. That clarity does not come from polishing everything smooth. It comes from trusting what already works.

I’m leaving behind designing to prove something.
Forcing clean lines when the message needs room.
Overthinking tools instead of letting them support me.

What I’m taking into 2026 is intention.
Clarity.
Systems that make space for creativity instead of crowding it out.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we work best, not how we think we should work. That’s shaping a few things I’ll be sharing this week, including a new way to work together more closely.

If this season feels like a quiet reset instead of a loud one, you’re not doing it wrong.

What are you leaving behind as you step into 2026?
