At Tuesday's Council meeting, staff will be requesting a Budget Increase – 22-1024, Alternative Procurement – Broad Street (North) Roundabout. I am extremely concerned that staff continue to recommend FULL CLOSURE of Larry Uteck Blvd for up to 3 months in Spring 2023 to get this work completed.
Both Councillor Tim Outhit and I have asked for costing of night time work, which was not considered, and I am particularly concerned that the staff report does not include risks associated with loss of business to brand new businesses, congestion and back up on Hwy 102 exits at 2B and 3, impacts to transit routes 90, 91 and 194, extreme congestion of Hammonds Plains Rd, additional road closures due to collisions (ie Hammonds Plains Rd, on detour routes), spring flooding of Bluewater Rd blocking access, lack of safe alternatives, etc.
Please email [email protected] to explain to Regional Council that a full closure is unacceptable. Please keep your comments respectful.
