🌾 Today is International Celiac Disease Awareness Day! 🌾
Celiac disease is a serious autoimmune condition that damages the small intestine of some people when they eat gluten—a protein found in wheat, barley, and some other grains. Even a tiny amount of gluten can hurt someone with Celiac disease.
How can you stay safe? 🤔
Carefully read labels when shopping for food to avoid ingredients that may make you or your loved ones sick. Gluten hides in many unexpected places, from bread and pasta to soy sauce and chocolates.
We take food safety seriously. Our inspectors and scientists work tirelessly to test food products and make sure that labels are accurate. We take action when a product's label is wrong and could hurt people with Celiac disease or food allergies.
For example, we may issue a recall and remove the affected products from the market.
If you or someone you care about has Celiac disease or other food allergies, sign up for food recall notifications.
