Cultural Resource Management Group is currently hiring archaeological field technicians and field directors for September 2024 in Windsor, Ontario.
The responsibilities of the Archaeological Technician may include assisting Archaeologists/Field Directors with any of the following:
+ Stage 2-4 archaeological assessments, including pedestrian survey, shovel testing, and mitigation
+ Follow Health and Safety protocols set by CRM Group and by clients
+ Participate in safety training/education
Technician candidates should possess:
+ Ability to work in a team or individually as the tasks demand
+ Physical capability of possible physically demanding field work, including the ability to lift up to 40lbs and conduct repetitive movements (e.g., shoveling, troweling, screening soils, etc.)
+ Comfortable working outside in varying conditions and temperatures
+ Comfortable working in remote locations
+ Punctuality and time management skills
+ Personal transportation to and from work sites or designated meeting places
+ Previous experience is considered an asset
The responsibilities of the Archaeological Field Director will include:
+ Directing Stage 2-4 archaeological assessments, including pedestrian survey, shovel testing, and mitigation
+ Data collection, artifact transportation, photography, and detailed note taking
+ Supervising and training field technicians
+ Representing CRM Group to the public and stakeholders in a respectful and professional manner
Field Director candidates should possess, along with the technician requirements above:
+ A valid R or P License with the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism
+ Prior knowledge of the Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists
+ Previous Field Director experience
