Art in the Orchard 2026!

I love seeing the orchard fill up with pop-up galleries and all the amazing art on display. Thanks to all the artists who came out and braved the weather, and to everyone who came out to see them!

All week had been gorgeous, and the couple of days after were too. Unfortunately, Saturday decided to be windy and cold. 😂

I'm posting this a few days late because I was hoping more photos would trickle in. I always forget to take pictures when the event is actually happening!

Another new artist joining us this weekend! Harold Bushell

You have walls.
Probably.

Harold Bushell, born in 1959 is an acrylic painter from Edmonton, Alberta. In his early 20’s, Harold dabbled in pencil sketching, watercolours and oil paintings on canvas. Since retiring in 2019, and after a 30 year hiatus, Harold revisited his passion of painting using acrylics as his primary medium. Harold’s fascination with an individual’s eyes and unique facial features are reflected in his paintings and attempt to capture a person’s emotions and untold stories.

We're pleased to welcome another new artist to the orchard! Jamiedoo Genert

Jamie is a self taught oil painter from tawatinaw who mostly does landscapes. She also does custom wood burnings and works with polymer clay.

Another new artist joining us in the orchard!

Chloe Yakymyshyn Chloe Yakymyshyn is a trained musician and artist residing in Edmonton, Alberta. She has finished the Fine Art Diploma Program at MacEwan in 2019 along with completing up to Grade 8 in Royal Conservatory piano and being very active in many bands. Infusion from her musical background occurs into all her work, creating a dance from viewer to piece. Although acrylic and charcoal are her main mediums, her use of multimedia textures on various substrates creates an abrupt, dry surrealism and dark whimsy. As you stare each piece in its face, they tend to also stare back at the individual inquisitively. The questions revolve around critiques of the suburban, an uplifting of brash punk energy, the congruence with sad folk nostalgia, and centring the human body as watcher and doer.
