πŸ˜‚ CAN I GIST YOU SMALL? πŸ˜‚

One thing nobody prepared me for when I moved abroad was becoming the β€œrich relative.”

Because apparently, the moment your plane lands, dollars start growing on trees. πŸŒ³πŸ’΅

Back home, people imagine your life like this:

✨ Big house.
✨ Plenty money.
✨ Shopping every weekend.
✨ Vacations every other month.

Meanwhile…

You’re standing in Costco calculating whether buying the bigger pack is actually saving money or setting you up for financial regret. 😭😭😭

The funniest part?

Many Africans abroad are living two lives.

The life people think we have.

And the life we actually have.

The life people see:
πŸ“Έ Nice family pictures.
πŸ“Έ New car.
πŸ“Έ Smiling faces.

The life they don’t see:
😩 Working long hours.
😩 Juggling schedules.
😩 Missing family.
😩 Constantly trying to stay ahead of rising costs.

I remember one time someone said to me,

β€œAhhh, you people abroad have made it.”

I just smiled. πŸ˜‚

Because explaining that life abroad is not a magic cheat code would have taken too long.

Don’t get me wrong.

I’m grateful.

Very grateful.

But living abroad taught me something important:

A higher income doesn’t automatically create financial freedom.

You can earn more and still feel like you’re running on a treadmill.

That’s why so many immigrants are starting to think differently.

Not because they’re greedy.

Not because they want luxury.

But because they want options.

More time.
More flexibility.
More breathing room.

And honestly?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting that.

My African people abroad…

What’s the funniest assumption someone back home has made about your life overseas? πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Can I gist you small about money? 😊

One thing coming abroad has taught me is that earning more money and having more money are not always the same thing. 🧐

I know.

Sounds somehow. πŸ˜‚

But hear me out.

When I first moved abroad, I honestly thought every financial problem would disappear once I started earning more.

Then I earned more.

And somehow…

Life also became more expensive. πŸ˜…

The bills upgraded.

The responsibilities upgraded.

Even Nigeria upgraded. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

One thing I’ve realized over the years is this:

The goal is not just to earn more.

The goal is to create options.

Because when all your hopes, dreams, bills, responsibilities, emergencies and future plans are sitting on one paycheck…

That paycheck starts carrying weight it was never designed to carry.

See ehn…

This is not me saying quit your job.

Far from it.

I actually believe having a good job is a blessing.

But I also believe there is wisdom in building something alongside it.

Learning new skills.

Creating additional streams of income.

Giving yourself options.

Because peace of mind hits differently when your entire future isn’t dependent on one payday.

Anyway…

Maybe it’s just me.

But these days, I think less about how much I earn and more about how many options I have.

My fellow Africans abroad…

What’s one money lesson life has taught you the hard way? πŸ‘‡πŸΎπŸ˜Š

See ehn… can I tell you something? 😊

When I first moved abroad, I honestly thought the solution to money was simple.

Just get a better-paying job.

Simple.

So I worked hard.

Got promotions.

Earned more.

But somehow… it still felt like the money had wings. πŸ˜…

Before salary even entered, it had already disappeared.

Mortgage was waiting.

Bills were waiting.

Nigeria was waiting. πŸ˜‚

Then school activities.

Birthdays.

One emergency that nobody planned for.

Omo… this abroad life can humble somebody.

One day, I just sat down and asked myself,

β€œGbemi, is this how it’s always going to be?”

Not because I hated my job.

I actually like what I do.

But I knew I didn’t move all the way here just to work, pay bills, sleep and repeat.

I wanted options.

I wanted to be able to say, β€œYes, let’s go,” without checking my account first.

I wanted to support my family without feeling like I was robbing Peter to pay Paul.

That’s when I started looking into building something on the side.

Not another job.

A system.

Something that could grow even while I was busy living life.

And honestly…

Learning that changed the way I think about money forever.

If you’re an African abroad and you’ve ever looked at your payslip and wondered, β€œWhere did everything go?” πŸ˜…

My dear…

You’re definitely not the only one.

Tell me I’m not talking to myself here. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

I honestly didn’t expect much.

What surprised me wasn’t income.

It was realizing I didn’t have to figure everything out alone.

Someone had already built the roadmap.

All I had to do was follow it.

People think moving abroad automatically means you’ve made it.

Truth?

Sometimes you’re earning more…

but keeping less.

I remember asking myself,

β€œIf I get sick tomorrow…
what happens to this income?”

That question led me to search for another way.

You don’t have to take the same path I did, but knowing your options can change everything.

I was looking for breathing room.

When we moved abroad, I thought working hard would solve everything.

It did… to a point.

Bills got paid.

But freedom?

Not even close.

I wanted something that could grow without demanding more hours from me.

One random day I stumbled across a business system that was already built.

Products.

Training.

Support.

Automation.

Mentorship.

At first I ignored it.

Then curiosity got the better of me.

That decision changed everything.

People who once struggled with bills, uncertainty, and limited opportunities are now hitting major milestones- including Lifetime Income Bonus levels they never imagined possible πŸ™ŒπŸΎβœ¨ 5K USD/month for life!!

Moms, Veterans, Teachers, immigrants, 9-5 workers, stay-at-home parents, ordinary people making extraordinary decisions and staying consistent long enough to see results.

What inspires me most is not just the income… it’s the confidence, freedom, growth, and impact that comes with it ❀️

This is bigger than money πŸ’―πŸ’―

It’s people proving that where you come from does not determine how far you can go πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Money doesn’t change who you are… it amplifies who you already are. 🀭

I’ve seen it over and over again.

Give a generous person more money and they help more people.
Give a grateful person more money and they appreciate life even more.
Give a driven person more money and they create even bigger opportunities.

The truth is, wealth doesn’t create character, it reveals it.

That’s why I have never been motivated by fancy cars, designer labels, or trying to impress people. I was motivated by options.

The option to travel when I want.
The option to spend more time with the people I love.
The option to say β€œno” to things that don’t align with my values.
The option to help others when they’re struggling.

Build wealth so you have choices, not excuses.

Because financial freedom isn’t about having more stuff…
It’s about having more control over your time, your energy, and your life.

What would having more options allow you to do? πŸ‘‡
