A word to the those who are filing their tax returns that include Capital Gains. You will not be able to file your return until the CRA updates their forms.

Here is what is posted from the CRA website:

"Individuals who have no capital gains to report will be able to file beginning February 24, 2025. Individuals with any capital gains to report will not be able to file until the CRA has completed updating their forms. This will likely take until late March or early April".

This development is as a result of the Trudeau government deferring their decision to raise the Capital Gains inclusion rate from 50% to 66% until Jan. 1, 2026. Originally the change came into affect on June 25, 2024.

If there are any changes to this directive, I will be sure to post.

In the interim, I would appreciate it if you would share this message with all of your Canadian followers.

Great turnout tonight at the NLL game at Memorial Arena. It was Toys For Tots night. We gathered over 250 unwrapped toys and $853.00. I was pleased to be able to contribute $500.00 from your Brampton Excelsior Lacrosse Club. Thank You to our dedicated volunteers and, of course, our amazing Lacrosse fans.
