Black History Month starts with honoring Black women...the backbone, the blueprint, the standard!
Despite centuries of violent oppression, exploitation, erasure, and theft of our labor, Black women continue to lead, create, heal, build, and innovate at the highest levels. Excellence wasn’t granted to us, we forged it under pressure.
There’s a reason the world is taught how to control, silence, and dominate Black women early on: we are not easily intimidated and we do not shrink, bow, or fear any power rooted in supremacy. Our clarity, resilience, and refusal to be broken has always been dangerous to systems built on obedience.
This is why they surveil us.
Why they study us.
Why they imitate us.
Why they try to exhaust us.
And still, we rise.
