On February 22, 2024 we welcomed our new Executive Board members (pictured).

We also welcomed 3 new Directors at Large, Evan Keller (Keller Developments), Carla Milne (MNP), and Heather Thomas (Sentinel Safety Services).

These two beautiful river tables made of live edge walnut and colored epoxy were made by our millwork carpenter Jody Rodger. They were made for Beachcomber Clothing and Laundromat in Riding Mountain National Park.

We are honoured to have been a part of such an exciting project at Brandon University!

The Brandon University Nursing Program Expansion consisted of many phases in multiple buildings. The project’s scope included:
- Demolishing existing construction,
- Repurposing the existing post office as a classroom and training area for students,
- Developing a new mail sorting area – complete with custom ergonomic cabinetry fabricated in our very own millshop,
- Renovating additional spaces into offices to accommodate nursing faculty, and
- Closing off a man door and an overhead door to exterior.

All of this was completed while maintaining and matching the original buildings aesthetics and adhering to a strict timeline. The successful completion of this project has allowed Brandon University’s nursing program to accommodate 32 additional students annually!

A big thank you to our team at Ben Wiebe Construction, MCM Architects Inc, and all collaborating sub trades for all their hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to all the winners of the 2022 Construction Association of Rural Manitoba Inc. Awards of Excellence, and a special shout out to our very own Jeff Williams, winner of "Up-and-Coming Under 40"!

From a very young age Jeff knew he wanted to become a carpenter. He graduated from Crocus Plains High School with a building technology diploma and went on to complete the carpentry and woodworking program at Assiniboine Community College. It was through this program that Jeff came to work with Ben Wiebe Construction for his work practicum and he has been with us ever since.

Ben Wiebe Construction has been a long standing member and supporter of CARM, and Jeff has made a point of showing his support through board membership. Jeff's contributions help to ensure the longevity of the rural construction industry for future generations.

What a project! We were able to work with Brandon University to pour the base and hoist this amazing work of art into place. "Healing Together" by Kevin McKenzie is meant to start conversations surrounding truth and reconciliation.
