While the head office of our organization is located in Brandon, MB, we currently own and operate 11 hotels; four in Manitoba, one in Alberta and six in Ontario.

Silver Medal Success for Lena Aitken at Skills Manitoba 2026.

At Genesis, we are proud to recruit the brightest talent, and we are thrilled to celebrate the recent success of our team member, Lena Aitken. Representing Assiniboine College, Lena secured the Silver Medal in IT Network Systems Administration at the Skills Manitoba competition. After using her first year as a learning opportunity, Lena returned in her second year to conquer six hours of intense, high-pressure troubleshooting across complex network infrastructures. Her journey from student to medalist showcases the resilience and technical expertise we are honoured to have on our team.

SNEAK PEEK: Our Newest Hotel in Thunder Bay

Genesis Hospitality Management is excited to give you a peek at the current development of our new hotel in the Thunder Bay area. Genesis has entered into an agreement with Hyatt to bring a beautiful six-storey Hyatt House hotel, featuring 129 rooms, to Oliver Road, situated between Golf Links Road and the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Genesis Hospitality will retain both ownership and management of the property. This new addition joins the 12 hotels the company currently owns, operates, and manages across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. The Hyatt House Thunder Bay is projected to create over 50 employment opportunities in the area. It will offer contemporary rooms and suites complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, plush bedding, and purposeful amenities.

Kevin Swark, Executive Vice President for Genesis Hospitality Inc., commented, “We are excited to be back in Thunder Bay. Our new Hyatt House will be an extended-stay facility, providing kitchenettes and rooms for guests intending to stay for a little longer than a normal one or two nights.”

The Hyatt House Thunder Bay is conveniently located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, serving as an ideal home base for business or leisure travellers exploring one of Canada’s most diverse cities and its top attractions. Guests will be minutes from downtown, Lakehead University, and Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. The location also offers easy access to the region’s stunning scenery, nearby walking and hiking trails, and the Lake Superior waterfront.

With a late spring opening anticipated, Hyatt House Thunder Bay is now accepting reservations for stays beginning June 25, 2026, and beyond.
