Genesis Hospitality Management is recognized as a Marriott Approved Management Company and an approved Hyatt Essentials Brand Operator, while bringing extensive experience managing Choice and Hilton hotel brands. Genesis Hospitality Management is pleased to announce the purchase of a dual-branded property in Calgary, Alberta: the Courtyard by Marriott - Calgary Airport and the Residence Inn by Marriott - Calgary Airport.

Located at 2500 and 2530 48th Ave.NE., this six-story, dual-branded complex was built in 2012 and offers 329 guest rooms and extended-stay suites to the Genesis portfolio, directly serving the Calgary International Airport hub.

The Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Airport features 171 modern, thoughtfully designed guest rooms tailored for business and leisure travellers. The Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Airport adds 158 spacious extended-stay suites, offering fully equipped kitchens and functional work areas designed for long-term comfort and productivity.

The dual property boasts 7,900 square feet of flexible, combined conference and event space, anchored by the Stampede Ballroom, which seats up to 300 guests. Guests at both properties share access to premium amenities, including an indoor pool, sauna, fully equipped fitness center, and complimentary airport shuttle service.

SNEAK PEEK: Our Newest Hotel in Thunder Bay

Genesis Hospitality Management is excited to give you a peek at the current development of our new hotel in the Thunder Bay area. Genesis has entered into an agreement with Hyatt to bring a beautiful six-storey Hyatt House hotel, featuring 129 rooms, to Oliver Road, situated between Golf Links Road and the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Genesis Hospitality will retain both ownership and management of the property. This new addition joins the 12 hotels the company currently owns, operates, and manages across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. The Hyatt House Thunder Bay is projected to create over 50 employment opportunities in the area. It will offer contemporary rooms and suites complete with complimentary Wi-Fi, plush bedding, and purposeful amenities.

Kevin Swark, Executive Vice President for Genesis Hospitality Inc., commented, “We are excited to be back in Thunder Bay. Our new Hyatt House will be an extended-stay facility, providing kitchenettes and rooms for guests intending to stay for a little longer than a normal one or two nights.”

The Hyatt House Thunder Bay is conveniently located just off the Trans-Canada Highway, serving as an ideal home base for business or leisure travellers exploring one of Canada’s most diverse cities and its top attractions. Guests will be minutes from downtown, Lakehead University, and Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. The location also offers easy access to the region’s stunning scenery, nearby walking and hiking trails, and the Lake Superior waterfront.

With a late spring opening anticipated, Hyatt House Thunder Bay is now accepting reservations for stays beginning June 25, 2026, and beyond.
