Meet Charlie Hullick, our youngest Side Hustle grant recipient this year. At just 15 years old, Charlie is already building something incredible with Charlie's Chickens. He is raising broiler chickens right in his own backyard in the Oakland-Wawanesa area.

Charlie received a $500 Side Hustle Micro-Grant through Community Futures Westman to help cover feed costs as he grows his flock from chicks to broiler stage.

Programs like the Side Hustle Micro-Grant exist for exactly this reason, to give young entrepreneurs the spark they need to turn a great idea into a real business. By investing in youth like Charlie, we are not just funding a business, we're building confidence, work ethic, financial literacy, and the next generation of rural entrepreneurs right here in our communities.

The future of business in Westman is bright, and it's in great hands.
