We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Automatic Door Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and enjoys working with advanced door systems across commercial and residential environments.

What You’ll Do
Install, troubleshoot, and repair automatic door systems in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Work with systems including sliding doors, swing operators (ADOs), revolving doors, drive-thru windows, and security revolvers
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, door schedules, and technical drawings
Perform site preparation and finishing work (framing, carpentry, caulking, flooring, tile work) as required
Diagnose and repair sensors, control systems, and hardware components
Restore and refurbish existing door systems to improve performance and longevity
Maintain accurate service records, including materials and labour performed
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with a clean, professional finish
What You Bring
Proven experience as an Automatic Door Technician or similar role
Strong knowledge of automatic door systems and multiple manufacturers
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and hardware schedules
Hands-on experience in construction trades (carpentry, installation, finishing)
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical systems)
Excellent attention to detail and organization
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Certifications & Requirements (Preferred / Required)
American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) Certification or willingness to obtain
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certification (required)
Working at Heights Certification (Ontario compliant)
Occupational Health & Safety Training (e.g., OHSA awareness)
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., automatic door system brands) considered a strong asset
Ability to pass background checks where required for secure job sites
