Today we are closed for Truth and Reconciliation Day. Here at Natures Best Early Learning we recognize that we use the land as our as our learning space, as our place of play and laughter. Yet we know that having this privilege came at a cost to the Indigenous people their language and culture. We use everyday to try to take stewardship of the land to respect nature and to be better people. The children learn that the language of "we" and "us" mean everybody. Most importantly we learn that ownership is only a word, we all need each other, we need to share what we have, that looking after the earth is important Indigenous teachings that are a gift we should learn from. Take time today to think of all those Indigenous children that are precious like our own and their families today. But even better practice all year on how to make our world a better place so nothing like this ever happens again ❤
