Another Mother and Daughter Photo.
PG 004 and my EIS 5K cow. Same shape to the head but the daughter has significantly more hair than her dam. Never the biggest cows in the pasture but they put all of what they have into their calves.

Aunty Val got a cute shot of EIS 118L “Lexington” and WDG 70M “Maxum” investigating the salt delivery a few days ago.

Happy Winter Solstice from the E Over I herd. We just finished digging ourselves out of a heck of a dump of snow up here in the Peace Country. We’ve been kinda Spoiled in that regard for the last few years With only having to push a little snow around three times a winter. But heres hoping that we are going to have a good year for grass, forage and moisture for crops. I don’t know if we could stand another season of drought conditions

Trying to get ready for winter. Cattle are all home and we are doing swath graze with the calves on the cows this year as it was a very poor crop and there is not much use trying to find these swaths after it snows. Calves are getting good at pulling up turnips. I always love showcasing these Saler influenced commercial females with the Charolais Calf at their sides in the fall.
I hope you all can take a minute to go check out the Salers Elite Sale. Thank you to the SAC and ASA for putting the show and sale together. As always, you do one hell of a job.

Its interesting how one can look at a herd developed in a different part of the world but you can still recognize the facial features and characteristics in a breed of cattle.

It is always a good day when you have farm visitors!! Recently life member of the Australian Salers Association, Reg Mickelbrough, (Scattered Gums Salers), had a farm visit from some South Australian Salers breeders, Roz and Ainsley Curtis, (Cara Park […]
