🌿 Hunting in Community Pastures🌿

🌾When enjoying public access to Community Pastures, please respect the land, livestock, wildlife, and any Species at Risk. Hunters must avoid disturbing animals and help protect these important areas.

🔗To gain access to a community pasture, first fill out the form available at: https://portal.laserfiche.ca/u2921/forms/RecAccess

👍Requests will be reviewed and you will receive an email stating if access is granted or denied.
You are not permitted to access the community pasture until you have received permission via email.

✅ Access may be restricted or denied due to livestock presence, fire bans, sensitive wildlife habitat, camping plans, or activities that do not align with pasture management rules.

🔥Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield will conduct prescribed fires in the CFB Suffield Base from September 29 to October 3. Prescribed fires will only proceed under suitable weather conditions.

🚒Residents near the base may see smoke from a distance and increased emergency vehicle activity as a result of these controlled fire operations.

📞Any fires observed outside the CFB Suffield perimeter should be reported by calling 911.

🔥A Fire Restriction is in place throughout the Special Areas, effective Friday, August 14, 2026.

🚫This restriction is imposed on all outdoor fires except gas/propane BBQs or campfires in designated camping areas unless specifically posted.

📝Any existing Controlled Burns may be suspended or cancelled. New Controlled Burns are not approved until the Regional Fire Chief or Regional Deputy Fire Chief has contacted the ratepayer directly to approve or deny the request.

Our neighbours at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield are conducting a large scale explosive blast with Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and the Suffield Research Centre between August 12 and August 13

Residents in the surrounding communities may hear the blast or see the plume.
Fire suppression resources will be on scene, and multiple mitigation measures will be
employed throughout the operation.
