Jacky, a McMaster University student from China, always dreamed of becoming a pilot, especially a fighter pilot, but believed it was out of reach due to a spinal cord injury and multiple surgeries.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he began to explore whether flying a small aircraft might still be possible, discovering that others with disabilities had earned their pilot licenses. After a life-changing Cessna 172 flight, Jacky connected with Upright Aviation by chance and took a leap into aerobatics, despite initial fears about safety and his condition.
With expert guidance and encouragement from the Upright team, he soared over Hamilton, performed rolls and loops, and fulfilled a lifelong dream, proving that the sky truly belongs to those bold enough to chase it.
Whether you're overcoming limits or simply exploring new heights, Jackyโs story reminds us that the sky isnโt reserved for the few; itโs open to anyone bold enough to rise.
