Junior HSE Advisor, Remote Mining Exploration Project
National Emergency Safety Service (NESS) is seeking a Junior HSE Advisor for a remote camp-based mining exploration project in Northern British Columbia.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing safety professional to gain hands-on experience in the mining exploration industry while working alongside and being mentored by experienced safety managers.
Position Details
Anticipated start date: Mid-September 2026
Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Compensation: Day-rate position, to be discussed with the successful candidate
Travel: Provided from most major airports in Canada
Accommodations and meals: Provided by the client while in camp
Reporting: Onsite Safety Manager
Key Responsibilities
Conduct toolbox and safety meetings
Complete routine workplace and site safety inspections
Review field-level risk assessments and coach workers on identifying and controlling hazards
Assist with incident and near-miss investigations
Support corrective action tracking and follow-up
Participate in worker orientations and site-specific safety training
Monitor compliance with project safety procedures and regulatory requirements
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of safety documentation and records
Promote positive worker engagement and a practical, proactive safety culture
Provide general support to the onsite Safety Manager and project leadership
Required Qualifications
Current NCSO certification
Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Good computer skills and confidence working with electronic reporting systems
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a remote camp environment
Organized, dependable and comfortable communicating with workers and supervisors
Able to work independently while following the direction of the onsite Safety Manager
Previous experience in mining, exploration, construction or another remote industrial environment would be considered an asset. However, we are also interested in candidates who have the right qualifications, a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to learn and develop their safety career.
